Ressources and ressources contribution to a task

Hi all

I am new to list and have joined because i would like to share a few
thoughts about what i think could make a good project even better.

I been using mrproject a little and have been wondering about the
handling of tasks.

All tasks in mrproject has a certain duration. This duration however is
static no matter how many work ressources you assign to a task (and i
think three people ought to be faster than one - not always, but most of
the time ;-) ). I think updating the duration for a task manually is
tedious. It is something the application should help with.

Is there somebody on the list with an opinion on this? Is there a reason
for having manual updates?

If automatic duration calculation is a wanted feature it is something i
would like to have look into.

Regards

This is the planned behaviour for work-dependant tasks. We want to
support that a task takes the same amount of time no matter how many
resorces you assign to it (for example a meeting) and tasks that takes
shorter time the more resources you assign.

The only reason that it's not there yet is that we haven't had time to
implement it. It's part of the resource calendar work that we working
on.

There are a few pieces of code that needs to go into various places
before this specific task can be implemented. You might want to start
out with something easier.

Any suggestions for an easier task to start with? I've been looking
around the website, but haven't been able to find at todo or similiar.

Libmrproject:

that are not assigned.
