Hi All,

I updated the User Guide, which you can view here:
http://www.geocities.com/kmaute

Details of the updates and a link to the souce can be
found on there.

Also, interestingly enough, when I set my 'Application
Font' to Helvetica 12, per the gnome document
standard, MrProject failed to launch, with an error:
Cannot load unicode character map for Helmet 12.
...which is odd, since Helmet 12 isn't what I asked
for (he said with a quizzical look).

In any case, the new screenshots are taken with the
application font set to 'Sans 10', which looks like
the
same as the previous set.

I'll be away for the next 2 days, so I may not respond
right away if any of you have feedback, but it is
welcome.

Tnx.

Weird. I don't have helvetica but it works with a load of fonts here.
Could you run MrProject through gdb and try to catch a backtrace from
where the error is caught?

Richard

Hi All,
http://www.geocities.com/kmaute
Hi,

I tried to incorporate the latest version into MrProject but I can't get
it working with the help browser.

For one thing, the images doesn't seem to be working. The ".png" is
missing from the generated html, and the "chunking" feature that yelp
uses does not work either. I'm not sure why it's broken or how it's
supposed to work so I'm not sure how to try and fix it :)

Any ideas?

Regards,
Richard

Oh, geez. Now you're starting to treat me like I know
what I'm doing. ;) I have no experience with gdp, but
I'll give it a go.

Bottom line though, I think we should use a font that
comes with Gnome2 as our standard. Maybe stick with
Sans 10?

I haven't been using yelp, and documentation on it is
sorely lacking, but I'll give it a try. Can you get
it to display in yelp if you launch yelp from outside
MrProject?

Hehe :) It's not really that important...

Sure, I agree. I was just curious why it doesn't work with a certain
font.

yelp ghelp:///path/to/file

should work.

The thing is though, that the html files that I was able to produce had
the same errors, i.e. they didn't work propery in mozilla either. Could
be some problem with my docbook setup, but I don't think so since other
GNOME documentation is working...

There was also a bug in our OMF-file which I fixed yesterday. So now
MrProject User Guide is available in GNOME/Applications

Btw, I'm of the feeling that if you need documentation for the help
browser something is wrong. Please let me know if there is anything in
Yelp you find confusing :)

I have 2 suggestions for yelp. First, its not
apparent that it wants a URI in the above format. If
I type: yelp /path/to/file
then it tries to open the file in Mozilla (on my
system anyway). This could be confusing.

My other suggestion is to offer a file open option in
the yelp file menu, which would make it easier for
folks who want to use yelp to preview docbook xml
files. This could be a purely selfish wish - I'm not
sure how many others would find this feature helpful.

Tnx.

Ok. I see what's going on. The Gnome Documentation
Handbook said I should specify graphics like this:
<graphic fileref="figures/task-view" format="PNG">
</graphic>

This works fine when i transform it using db2html, but
yelp and db2pdf don't like it, so I changed the
graphic references so that the fileref includes the
".png". This seems to make everyone happy.

I put the updated version here:
http://www.geocities.com/kmaute/mrproject/mrp-ug.zip

I hope that helps.
